From September 14, 2026, passengers travelling internationally from Pakistan are required to carry vaccination proof integrated with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). The new requirement was announced by Border Health Services-Pakistan and applies to outbound international travellers, including passengers travelling for Hajj and Umrah. Airlines and travel agents have been instructed to accept NADRA-linked digital vaccination proof rather than relying on ordinary handwritten or hospital-issued vaccination cards.
Which Vaccinations Are Covered?
The vaccination requirements depend on the traveller and destination, but the current international-travel directives cover vaccines including polio, meningitis, yellow fever and influenza. Pakistan’s National Immunization Management System (NIMS), operated through NADRA, has previously been used to issue official digital certificates for vaccinations such as polio and yellow fever that may be required for international travel. The official Pakistan Polio Programme also states that outbound international travellers need proof of polio vaccination when required under international health rules.
How to Get the Digital Vaccination Certificate
Travellers should first receive the required vaccination at an authorised vaccination centre so that the vaccination details can be entered into the NIMS system. After the record is available, the digital certificate can be obtained through the NADRA/NIMS system or the relevant vaccination application. NADRA’s vaccination services include certificates for polio, yellow fever and COVID-19. Digital certificates can contain a QR code that allows the vaccination record to be verified electronically. The official polio programme states that its digital certificate can be downloaded through the NIMS portal or Pak Vaccination Pass after payment of the applicable fee.

What Travellers Should Do Before Going to the Airport
International passengers should arrange their required vaccinations and obtain the NADRA-integrated digital certificate before reaching the airport to avoid delays at check-in or departure. For travellers who have not completed the required vaccination in advance, vaccination and registration facilities may also be available at designated airport counters, although passengers are advised to arrive well before their flight if they need this service. Since vaccination requirements can vary according to the destination and type of travel, travellers should verify the latest requirements with their airline or the relevant health authorities before departure.
